Andrea Bianchi

After four years of experience at a multinational company, where he honed his skills in Product Management and the management of enterprise-scale digital solutions, Andrea chose to return to Mashfrog to take on a new professional challenge. Today, he leads the Products area within the New Tech BU a key role that allows him to combine his passion for Product Management with the opportunity to contribute to the company’s strategic growth.

In this interview, he shares the reasons that led him to return, the transformations he found at Mashfrog compared to his first experience, and the way his passions—including analog photography—intertwine with his vision of work and technology.

How long have you been at Mashfrog, and what do you do?

I returned to Mashfrog in january 2025, and today I work in Product Management within the New Tech BU, led by Antonio Grillo. Specifically, I’m responsible for the Products area, a sector we’re currently structuring to expand the company’s offering with innovative solutions, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

Mashfrog has always been strong in business integration and consulting, but the goal now is to complement these services with a stand-alone product offering—ready-to-market solutions for the B2B sector. One of the first projects I’m working on is Ticket Wallet, a ticketing system developed in partnership with Vivaticket for managing stadium access.

Coming back to Mashfrog to lead this change was the perfect opportunity for me: I wanted to strengthen my career in Product Management, and here I found the ideal environment to do so.

Tell us about your first life at Mashfrog

My first experience at Mashfrog began in 2016, when the company had fewer than 100 employees. I started as a frontend developer, working on various projects, and eventually became a Project Manager in 2018. During those years, I had the opportunity to build cross-functional skills and work with major clients like Open Fiber and Tivùsat.

At the same time, I started getting into Product Management by contributing to the development of solutions like SelfieWealth. Actually, my interest in creating digital products began even earlier—back in university, when I co-founded a startup called BESK with a few classmates. It was an e-commerce platform for fair trade and locally sourced products. The project ended after three years due to a lack of time and funding, but it was a key experience that helped me realize Product Management was the right path for me.

In 2021, I decided to leave Mashfrog to work at Admiral Group, a major company in the insurance sector. There, I had the chance to dive into the world of Insurtech Products, working with international teams and managing complex budgets. My goal was to step into the client’s shoes and specialize in product ownership.

When the opportunity came to return to Mashfrog with a key role in Product Management, I didn’t hesitate—it was the perfect moment to align my professional growth with the company’s evolution.

What differences have you noticed between the Mashfrog of the past and the one today?

Mashfrog has changed a lot over the years. When I first joined in 2016, the company was growing rapidly, but it still had a very lean structure. Today, I’ve found a much more organized and structured company, with well-defined processes and dedicated teams for communications, legal, bids, and procurement—departments that didn’t exist or were less developed back then.

Now, I see dynamics typical of large companies, like more structured resource management and greater focus on internal communication. At the same time, the company has managed to maintain its agile and innovative identity, striking a perfect balance between flexibility and organization.

Now tell us a bit about yourself. You have many passions, especially photography…

Aside from technology, I’ve always had many passions: cooking, travel, plants… but my biggest one is definitely analog photography.

I got into photography during my university years, while studying Media Science and Technology, before switching paths and graduating in Internet Engineering. I’ve always loved the world of images and the power they have to tell stories. Over time, though, I realized that digital photography didn’t bring me the same satisfaction as film. I’m fascinated by the process, the manual work, the care each shot requires—which forces you to be patient (something I usually lack!) and also to capture the moment.

Today, I not only use film and vintage cameras, but I also develop my photos at home (at least the black-and-white ones). This gives me full control over the process and makes me appreciate the final result even more. Of course, my wife barely tolerates me when I fill the house with rolls of film and chemicals for developing… but it’s part of the game!

Finally, what do you see for your future?

My goal is to strengthen the Products area at Mashfrog and contribute to the company’s growth in this direction. We’re building something new, and having the chance to do it in a place that still feels like home is incredibly rewarding.

On a personal level, I want to keep nurturing my passions—from photography to travel—because I believe they’re essential to maintaining a healthy work-life balance. After all, just like in Product Management, the challenge is finding the right mix of innovation, creativity, and strategy.
